Rachel Barnard
Rachel Barnard ist eine polnisch-britische Mezzosopranistin, die zuvor an der Royal Conservatoire of Scotland und an der Royal Birmingham Conservatoire studiert hat. Derzeit schließt sie ihren Opern-Master bei Caroline Stein an der HMT Leipzig ab.
Rachel hat mit British Youth Opera und dem Waterperry Opera Festival gesungen, wo sie Young Artist war. Außerdem trat sie als Young Artist beim Leeds Song auf und wird im Herbst 2025 zum Festival zurückkehren, um ein neues Werk von Anian Wiedner uraufzuführen.
Im Sommer 2025 nahm Rachel an der ersten Tosti International Singing Academy in Folkestone teil, die von Matthew Rose geleitet wurde. Dort arbeitete sie mit internationalen Künstler:innen wie Jennifer Larmore, Stephen Lawless, Anna Tilbrook und Vlad Ifinca.
Auf der Bühne hat Rachel während ihres Studiums die Rollen Adza (L’étoile, Chabrier) und Mother/Other Mother (Coraline, Turnage) gesungen. Sie gewann außerdem den 1. Preis im Norma Grieg French Song Prize, den Stuart Cameron Smith American Song Prize sowie den Edward Brookes Lieder Prize.

Rachel Barnard is a Polish/British mezzo soprano, who has previously studied at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire. She is now completing her Opera Masters with Caroline Stein at the HMT Leipzig.
Rachel has sung with British Youth Opera and Waterperry Opera Festival, where she was a Young Artist. She has also sung as a Young Artist at Leeds Song, and will return to the festival in Autumn 2025 to premiere a new piece written by Anian Wiedner.
In Summer 2025 Rachel participated in the inaugural Tosti International Singing Academy in Folkestone, headed by Matthew Rose, where she worked with international artists including Jennifer Larmore, Stephen Lawless, Anna Tilbrook and Vlad Iftinca.
