Miltiadis Tzimourtos

Miltiadis Tzimourtos wurde 2000 in Alexandria Imathias, Griechenland, geboren. Von 2018 bis 2022 studierte er Musikwissenschaft und Kunst an der Universität von Mazedonien in Thessaloniki und Gesang mit Marina Voulogianni. Anschließend absolvierte er von 2022 bis 2025 sein Bachelorstudium im Fach Klassischer Gesang/Musiktheater bei Prof. Caroline Stein an der Hochschule für Musik und Theater „Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy“ Leipzig. Seit Oktober 2025 studiert er dort im Masterstudiengang Operngesang ebenfalls bei Prof. Caroline Stein.

Während seines Bachelorstudiums in Leipzig wirkte er in mehreren Opernproduktionen der Hochschule mit, darunter als Herr Pasek und Mücke in Leoš Janáčeks „Das schlaue Füchslein“, als Junker Spärlich und Fenton in Otto Nicolais „Die lustigen Weiber von Windsor“ sowie als Il Commendatore in Nino Rotas „La notte di un nevrastenico“. Im Rahmen der Bundesakademie für junges Musiktheater übernahm er 2024 die Rolle des Hermosa in Jacques Offenbachs „Die Insel Tulipatan“ am Schlosstheater Rheinsberg. Von April bis Juli 2025 sang er die Rolle des Agenore in W. A. Mozarts „Il re pastore“ an der Kammeroper Schloss Rheinsberg.

Seit Beginn seines Masterstudiums setzte Tzimourtos seine szenische Tätigkeit mit weiteren anspruchsvollen Partien fort. Im November 2025 übernahm er den Prolog und die Rolle des Quint in Benjamin Brittens „The Turn of the Screw“ an der Hochschule für Musik und Theater Leipzig. Im April 2026 wirkte er in J. S. Bachs „Matthäus-Passion“ in der Thomaskirche Leipzig mit.

Im Studienjahr 2026/27 ist Miltiadis Tzimourtos Stipendiat der Griechischen Nationaloper.

Miltiadis Tzimourtos was born in 2000 in Alexandria Imathias, Greece. He subsequently completed his Bachelor’s degree in Classical Voice/Music Theatre under Prof. Caroline Stein at the University of Music and Theatre “Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy” Leipzig from 2022 to 2025. Since October 2025, he has been pursuing a Master’s degree in Opera Performance at the same institution, also under the guidance of Prof. Caroline Stein.

During his Bachelor’s studies in Leipzig, Tzimourtos performed in several opera productions at the university, including the roles of Mr Pasek and the Mosquito in Leoš Janáček’s The Cunning Little Vixen, Sir Hugh Evans and Fenton in Otto Nicolai’s The Merry Wives of Windsor, and Il Commendatore in Nino Rota’s La notte di un nevrastenico. In 2024, as part of the Federal Academy for Young Music Theatre, he performed the role of Hermosa in Jacques Offenbach’s L’Île de Tulipatan at the Schlosstheater Rheinsberg. From April to July 2025, he sang the role of Agenore in W. A. Mozart’s Il re pastore at the Kammeroper Schloss Rheinsberg.

Since beginning his Master’s studies, Tzimourtos has continued to develop his stage experience through further demanding roles. In November 2025, he performed the Prologue and the role of Quint in Benjamin Britten’s The Turn of the Screw at the University of Music and Theatre Leipzig. In April 2026, he participated in a performance of J. S. Bach’s St Matthew Passion at St Thomas Church in Leipzig.

In the 2026/27 academic year, Miltiadis Tzimourtos is a scholarship recipient of the Greek National Opera.
