Augusta Kling
Die Sopranistin Augusta Kling wuchs in Stockholm auf. Ihre musikalische Ausbildung begann an der Chorschule Adolf Fredriks Musikklasser. Sie sang mit 12-15 Jahre im preisgekrönten Mädchenchor Adolf Fredriks Flickkör. Sie trat auch in mehrere Produktionen an der Königlichen Oper Stockholm als Kinderchorsängerin auf. Ihr wurden als junge Pianistin und Sängerin mehrere Stipendien zugeteilt. Im Alter von 16 Jahren begann sie ihre solistische sängerische Ausbildung an der Södra Latins Musikgymnasium in Stockholm. Dort nahm sie als Sopransolistin teil in Aufführungen von u.a. ”Förklädd Gud” von Lars-Erik Larsson. Im Sommer 2014 trat sie als ”Junge Sommermusikerin” im Konzerthaus Stockholm auf. Zwischen 2014-2017 studierte sie an der Vadstena Gesangs- und Klavierakademie, mit Vertiefung “ Lied-Interpretation” bei Prof. Dr. Monica Thomasson. Seit 2017 studiert sie im Bachelor klassischen Gesang/Musiktheater an der Hochschule für Musik und Theater ”Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy” Leipzig bei Prof. Caroline Stein. 2021 wirkte sie als Solistin in der kurzen Oper ”Die Witwe von Epheus” von Lukas Förster mit. Sie war gleichzeitig als Solistin in einer szenischen Produktion von Christian Josts Dichterliebe beteiligt. Im 2021 wurde sie als Stipendiatin der Anders Sandrew Stiftung und Anna Whitlocks Gedenkfonds gefördert. Sie war auch Finalistin im Albert-Lortzing Wettbewerb 2022. Im Frühling 2022 wird sie als Puck in Benjamin Brittens ”A Midsummernight’s Dream” an der HMT Leipzig.
Augusta Kling sang seit ihrem 10. Lebensjahr zahlreiche kirchenmusikalische Konzerte als Solistin und Choristin in Schweden, Deutschland, Frankreich und Italien.

Augusta Kling was born and raised in Stockholm, Sweden. She studied at the renowned choir school Adolf Fredriks Musikklasser. She was also a member of the award winning Adolf Fredrik’s Girls Choir. Augusta sang in several opera productions at the Royal Opera House in Stockholm. She continued her classical singing studies at the upper secondary school Södra Latins Musikgymnasium. She participated in as a sololist in numerous concerts and stage productions during the course of her studies. During the summer of 2014 she performed with art song recitals at the Stockholm Concert Hall as a part of the programme ”Young Summer Musicians”. 2014-2017 she studied at the college Vadstena Folkhögskola’s Music Department with special focus on art song interpretation under the vocal guidance of Prof. Dr. Monica Thomasson. In the Spring 2017 she performed as a soloist in the orchestral cantata ”Veni creator spiritus” by Ferdinando Bertoni in Berwaldhallen, Stockholm. In 2017 she was accepted to HMT Leipzig and will graduate in February 2023. In 2021 she sang the role of the Soldat in the contemporary opera ”Die Witwe von Epheus” by Lucas Förster and performed as a soloist in a staged version of ”Dichterliebe” by Christian Jost. In 2022 Augusta will play the part of Puck in Benjamin Britten’s ”A Midsummer Night’s Dream” at the HMT Leipzig. Apart from her music education Augusta has worked as a production assistant at the Stockholm Early Music Festival. She has also received scholarships and a prize for her piano playing. She was one of the finalists in Albert-Lortzing-Wettbewerb 2022. Augusta has received scholarships from among other Kungliga Musikaliska Akademien (2009, 2010 and 2013), Anders Sandrews Stiftelse (2021) and Anna Whitlocks Minnesfond (2021).
